Now that we have established an interest in a few of us wanting to participate, let's talk about some ideas of books that may interest everyone. Do we want to read one of the classics? A chick lit book? One of the new paranormal type books from an author like Kim Harrison? Let's throw around some ideas.

I can't wait to read the new Kim Harrison, but it might be hard for someone to begin the series there. Maybe we could begin with the first? I'm not overly interested in the classics ... I'll be interested in what others want to read!

Hey Jeanette,
I live in the Appalachian Mountain area and there is wonderful authoress named Sharyn McCrumb who writes books set in this area. Any of her books would be a good choice. There are several to choose from. The Hangman's Beautiful Daughter, If Ever I Return Pretty Peggy-O, The Ballad of Frankie Silver. Theres a bunch more, check her out on Amazon.

My parents live in that area as well of Kentucky. She is reading a series that is set there, I wonder if this is the one she is talking about!

The Wally Lamb book sounds good. I've never read him--am up for something new. Speaking of new. I've never heard of Kim Harrison. What does she write?
