Hi. Like I said in my last post, you should NOT rush into this decision. I know your hyperT has been hard to regulate but you MUST be sure you understand all the ramifications. If you go to the graves support group I recommended, well, we're a fairly anti-RAI bunch. Discriminate between the rhetoric and the genuine concerns. Take what Elaine Moore has to say very very seriously. Take the time to be sure you fully understand the ins and outs of thyroid replacement and that your dr. is competent in that area.
And if you have any signs of thyroid eye disease, RAI is clearly contraindicated!! Drs. may offer steroids to minimize it exacerbating but they only help for the short term and why not avoid steroids if you can? HyperT messes us up enough emotionally, you don't need side effects from steroids.
