Simon Baker, known for his television work such as "The Mentalist", returned to his native Australia to direct his first feature film. Baker also stars in the adaptation of Tim Winton's novel "Breath". In discussing the controversial coming-of-age story, Baker stated, “I’m really proud of this movie and I still sort of pinch myself that we were able to pull it off at all. What I wanted to do with this movie [is] try to make a film that had a bit more longevity and, for my own personal satisfaction, [had] some kind of a legacy that I felt proud of.”
