Actor Jared Leto, whose films include "Dallas Buyers Club", "Suicide Squad", and the upcoming "Blade Runner 2049", has signed on to direct "77" for Paramount Pictures. The script is from an original story by crime writer James Ellroy. Set in 1970s Los Angeles, two police officers investigate the Patty Hearst kidnapping and the murder of a fellow officer. Leto has previously directed a number of film shorts and documentaries. No word yet if he will appear onscreen in "77".
