Director Curtis Hanson died of natural causes on Tuesday, September 20th. The filmmaker was 71 years old. Hanson scored his biggest success with 1997's "L.A. Confidential". Hanson and the film were nominated for several Academy Awards, and Hanson won the Best Adapted Screenplay Oscar (shared with Brian Helgeland). He went on to direct "Wonder Boys" (2000) and "8 Mile" (2002).
