I have always had an interest in solar energy but have heard that the weather can affect your savings.

Any feedback on this?

Absolutely! Some places just don't have enough sunshine to make this worthwhile, except for small matters like having a solar battery charger or phone charger, solar flashlight or other gadget.

For people with little sunshine, the best thing for them might be a small wind turbine. A small tubine actually gives a TON more energy than even a large solar unit.
