Thanks, ladies, for all of your comments. Interacting with nature is a peaceful way to start the day, but there are also other ways to start the day on a good note. Quiet time spent interacting with pets, doing yoga, meditating, reading a book, taking a leisurely bath, quietly enjoying a cup of coffee or tea.....these are all calm ways to start the day. But you do have to make time for it, and what works for you may be something that's not even mentioned here.
A peaceful state of mind greatly helps when dealing with the challenges of every day life and the stresses that can come along with it. Nature helps me personally by getting me outside the boundaries of the box that makes up my home and into the bigger picture of life on this earth. Looking at lovely flowers, seeing animals, hearing birds.....it makes for a serene atmosphere where I feel connected to all life forms. It brings a sense of peace to me.
