So a friend of mine introduced me to Firefly/Serenity and all I could say was wow! when I saw it, and darn! (or something to that effect) when I saw it was cancelled. It's so rare to find tv shows that develop the characters,make the viewers care about their relationships with each other, and agonize over their fates.
If you love sci fi and haven't seen it, run to the nearest video store and get it.
I think my new favorite word is "shiny"! (as you can see by my sig.)

We were just talking about this in another thread somewhere. I absolutely love this movie and watched it a few times in one month. I have the series (it was on sale) but haven't had the chance to watch it yet. The first disc is sitting by the tv ready to go. I'm waiting for a lull in my regular tv viewing. You got me excited again.

Okay, Chloe, but here's the deal - the movie Serenity is DEAD LAST. The pilot two part episode Serenity is FIRST.

The Train Job is SECOND, even though it was, inexplicably, the first one aired.

Part of the reason this outstanding show was canceled was b/c of scheduling FUBAR.

I will never get over this.

You guys are making me want to watch both the show and the movie again! What brilliant characters and dialogue. Has anyone read the comic books?

I bought one for my son. I read it and it's good as far as comics go. Carries on with characters and develops the story line. There is also afree ebook novel floating around on the net somewhere. Read that too and it wasnt bad. Neither is substitute for the show, but I guess beggers cant be choosers.:-P
