I recently signed on to PBS - it was more out of curiosity as to how it worked than having a great desire to swap. I'm still not 100% sure I understand how it works.

Hi Angie:

If it is like the PBS in my area, ALL their shows are suppose to be viewable by ALL ages. They are supported by donations only they say. I love the PBS in my area as I can see some "oldies" that are not being shown anywhere. But there are different types of PBS, which stands for "Public Broadcasting Station"....

Hope this helps smile

If you mean Paperback Book Swap its really simple. You post books that you want to trade for other books. The cost is the mailing of books. We use is at the library primarily to fill holes in series.

For example, I post books that I want to trade. It could be a copy of "The DaVinci Code" that someone has donated. Someone requests the book and I send it to that pbs member. In return I get a credit.

If the library's book #3 in a series was checked out and never returned, I request a copy from another pbs member. I spend my credit to get the book.

This is very helpful when for some reason book #3 is no longer in print. Usually, the cost of mailing my book is less than buying a paperback version of the book the library needs.

I hope that helps.

Thanks Paula and Angela. LOL I posted two books but I guess no one is interested in them. I wondered if it really worked.

Sometimes it takes a while. The best thing is to post as many books as possible to widen your net. I have some books that have been on the list for a year. You never know when someone is going to want it.
