A person with ADD/ADHD can get essential nutrients from eating a variety of healthy fruits and vegetables. Frequently, the phrase, "Eat the Rainbow" is used. In our busy lives eating different fruits and vegetables can be difficult to manage. I have a one word answer to this dilemma-smoothies.

Smoothies to Enhance ADD Nutrition
Combine veggies and fruits for slightly sweet energizing smoothies. I like to use green tea for part of the liquid.
Ingredients:
4 stalks celery
1 ½ cups carrots
½ cup cucumber
1 tangerine (leave the peel on)
½ avocado
1 cup red grapes (20 grapes)
1 apple, cored
1 ½ cups water + 7 ice cubes

Blend all ingredients at high speed. If you have a Vitamix, that is preferred.
If you are giving these fruit and veggie smoothies to kids, you might not let them see you fix them. Just give them the smoothie! After they like it, let them know what they are drinking.
