Research in Spain is homing in on a DNA chip to help diagnose ADD based on genetic markers called polymorphisms. It could be a powerful diagnostic tool. Presently, there is no single test for Attention Deficit Disorder; some doctors and members of the general public deny the existence of ADD/ADHD.

ADD and a Diagnostic DNA Chip Research
A single test to diagnose ADD would be wonderful!
Wouldn't it be great to be able to send in a saliva sample and get a diagnosis?
Research is showing more and more that Attention Deficit Disorder has a strong genetic component.
I can't count the times that I've been told that ADD is not a real disorder, since there isn't a test for it. Many parents have told me that their doctors tell them that when the parent asks about medication for the child. Wouldn't it be nice to have a single test? This article brings hope for that genetic test.
One good thing about this chip would be to help kids get treatment at an early age. Another positive would be to get adults diagnosed who had not been diagnosed as children.
