What does current research show about Attention Deficit Disorder? Two recent studies, using brain imaging technology, might bring us closer to having a single test to diagnose ADD and better criteria to know when to do early interventions.

Brain Imaging Research and ADD
I know that many people believe that ADD is not real. It would be wonderful to have brain imaging that showed how the brains of folks with ADD are different from the masses of people.
Hi Connie,

In researching your article, in addition to MRI studies, did you come upon any studies using PET Scans that indicate that there is a difference in the brain functioning between individuals diagnosed with ADD and those not diagnosed with ADD? Or have the most advanced MRI's supplanted the utilization of the PET Scans which were highly instrumental in helping to understand such mental disorders like schizophrenia?
That's a good question, Les. These articles just came out within the last couple of weeks in Science Daily. I haven't seen any info on PET scans for a while. You've raised my awareness--I'll be looking for them.
