Cancer sores often pop up when youre under stress or right after you youve eaten an irritating food (pineapple, nuts and chocolate are common culprits).

You can eat yogurt , the active acidophilus cultures in yogurt can both prevent and heal canker sores. If you are prone to canker sores, eat at least four tablespoons of yogurt daily to prevent outbreaks. To heal an outbreak, eat at least one eight-ounce container a day.

Vitamin E , poke a hole in the capsule and then rub the liquid directly on the sore, using the vitamin E three time a day during an outbreak until the cancer sore is gone.

It is estimated that 70% of people who get Canker soes do so because they are allergic to Sodium Larel Sulphate. This is an agent used in toothpaste to cause foaming.
Look for a toothpaste without it, or one where the S.L.S is obtained from cocunut, not the usual chemical one. kbjlharris@yahoo.co.nz

If you feel a canker sore on the verge to come out ,try applying tea tree essential oil( it is anti-viral) and apply it as often as you think about it. Also, they may come out when you are under stress- your intestinal flora ( good bacteria) diminish at that time. You may wnat to take a good acidophilus- bifidus yogourt capsule. Also sugar, coffe may contribute to it formation.

When you already have one I swear by yogurt and green tea! Works for me every time. Takes my body 2-3 days to heal when I start taking both. I eat as much yogurt as I can.

I used to get them at that time of the month or if I had things with a lot of acid in them (like organges or pineapple.) Now days I don't get them anymore. Maybe my body has changed. I do drink kefir every day and that has been said to help but I am not 100% sure that is what has helped keep them at bay or not. All I know is I don't get them anymore but if I did I would reach for yogurt and green tea for sure!

I've suffered from this in the past. For me, I find it seems to happen when I tend to get dehydrated. I find drinking lots of water helps them heal faster as well as the cool water feeling good on them. I gargle with Listerine as well when I feel one coming on. I have 1/2 cup of probiotic (or whatever it's called) yogurt every day and don't feel this adds to or helps (but it's good in other ways). They are a nuisance for sure so I feel for ya.
