Have you ever heard of that statement before? Unemployment as a journey? Most people would rather call unemployment a living nightmare. Sometimes we have to change our mindset and put a positive outlook on a dismal situation. If you've been out of work awhile, it may be hard to have a positive outlook, but that's when you may need it the most.
Think of unemployment as a journey. Being out of work, difficult as it is, can be the opportunity of a life time. (No, I'm not crazy :o)
This is the perfect opportunity to re-invent yourself. Explore career options. Perhaps you wanted to start your own business. You'll have more quality family time. Being unemployed can almost be like a "do-over".
It would be very easy to fall into a deep depression. Try to think positive. Anger and dispair will only get you so far. I want to encourage you to fight back with the will and determination that will have you moving forward instead of being stagnet because of the trials that you're going through.
