With improved technology, more and more employers are making the Internet available to their employees.
I'm wondering how much time do you think the average employee spends on the Internet at work, doing personal stuff?

Does your employer provide Internet access? Limited or unlimited?
Hi, Yes, its true most of the employers are making the internet available to their employees. I spent almost half an hour daily on internet doing my personal stuff. Yes, my employer provide unlimited internet access. Thanks, Kelly.
Thanks Kelly John,

I tend to eat lunch at my desk so if I'm not working during the lunch. I do read and catch up on stuff. Nothing extravagant and mostly career related research anyway so it's keeping in line with what I do.

I think it's great that more employers are providing access.
At my current job the desktop computers are monitored for both the amount of time spent on the internet and the content that is looked at. We have been fortunate that no one has broken any internet usage policies, but given enough time someone probably will. Most people at my work spend about 20-30 minutes per day checking personal stuff on the internet like email or personal research. I believe that to most employers this is acceptable behavior because they participate in the same activities at work. It just comes down to abuse like most anything. Computer programs are also in place at our work that block access to _space and face_ personal websites.
Unless I would be paid to be on the internet I will never do that while at work.
Nancy, wise words. It can lead to non-productivity and termination. :-)
It is also a do unto others. The people who do things like that while at work would probably hate it if they would find their workers doing anything but work while on the job but yet they still do it.
