I read a great quote on Life Abundance about the value of education.
"Formal education will make you a living; self education will make you a fortune." - Jim Rohn
I loved it! What do you think?
I like it. Often people think school education makes you intelligent but it is not necessary the case plus you do not need a university diploma for many jobs and also to be successful.
I know many book smart people with very little common sense. School learning and life learning (applying life lessons) are definitely two different things.
If "a fortune" is interpreted only in monetary terms, I can only say "So what?" We hope that school teaches formal skills and some basic information about the world. The self-education is what takes you beyond it and makes your life worth living. It doesn't have to be pots of money. Perhaps it's gardening, art, a sport, volunteering, theater or music - things maybe you can't do to a professional level, but are enriching to you and others.
