Ghost cake - 10/11/11 09:37 PM
When my eldest daughter was in kindergarten, I was one of the room mothers.
I baked a cake for the class Halloween party. On the top, I frosted the center in the shape of a ghost, with chocolate icing surrounding it. 2 egg shell halves left over from the ingredients (thoroughly washed) were set into the frosting where eyes would be. I put a sugar cube into each half shell and doused it with lemon extract. The lights were turned down in the class and each eye was ignited for a spooky entrance.
It was fun and I think I'll make one for my grandchildren this year.
