Habemus Papam

It has been a very exciting day - Pope Francis.
He is the first Francis, first Jesuit, first from South America.

He lived very humbly and simply in Buenos Aries.

Angie, I am impressed with this man!!! He seems humble, pays his own way, rides the bus to the Vatican,and seems to really stand against social injustice and he loves the poor. He also takes a stand on materialism. Time will tell but I am in hopes--------------!!! dave

Dave, yes he certainly has a reputation for caring for the poor. St. Francis of Assisi was asked to rebuild the church; he has taken the name of Francis to emulate St. Francis of Assisi; he has his work cut out for him. He is a staunch orthodox Catholic - so we shall see.

I've been away for a few days and not able to keep up with the news.

Pope Francis has been busy since March. Did you follow him in Rio? Are you keeping up with him and the work he is doing?
