It's thundering out here and I was looking at the Worcester Mass webcam to watch the rain -

and it occurred to me, what if I saw someone being mugged? I could call the police and tell them to just look at the webcam logs! So all these neat webcams in all the cities could help keep it safer. But then I was thinking, haven't police wanted cameras everywhere, and we didn't want to have them watching us? But here we're voluntarily putting webcams all over creation now because it's fun!

You bring up a great point! There is good and bad in all areas of this subject. I often though I would love the police to monitor my house, but then again they may see something personal so it is a privacy thing.

Would anyone give up privacy for safety? If yes, where do we draw the line?
