Q is for quilt (what else?)
R is for Rotary Cutter ~ what did we use before them?

OK, Pooky, I'm stuck. (BTW wecolme to Bellaonline Quilting!). What is Grain?
cheerio for now from your bewildered host.
I'm thinking she meant both Crosswise and Lengthwise and not oats, wheat or barley.
My attempt at a funny!!
H is for Handwork which is my least favorite part of any project.
But also for Walter
Hunt and Elias
Howe who (separately) developed the first few sewing machines here in the US. I will forever be grateful for their inventions. I hate handwork.
Happy Quilting, GrannyH

J is for Jennifer Chiaverinni who writes the most wonderful quilt novels.
Hey Toni, I've never read a jennifer Chiaverinni novel. I know they're incredibly popular. Are they good? I am a non-fiction reader most of the time. I honestly don't like soppy fiction. Should I have a go a reading one? Which one would be a good one to start with?
Cheerio for now
K is for Knots -
Try not to make any in the wrong places. They're really difficult to quilt through.
L is for Loose threads! I recently judged a quilt show and I were amazed how many quilters left their loose threads, just sitting on the quilt. Loose threads - my husband usually leaves the house each morning with at least 5 loose threads on his pants!! Loose threads are one of the hazards of quilting.LOL

N for Nearly finiished and whats Next to start
Judie, the best Jennifer Chiaverini book to start with is The Quilter's Apprentice. It gives you the background for the rest of the series. It probably is best to read them in order, but certainly not necessary. There, of course, are things happening to the characters in each book that form a basis for the next book. I think there are 12 or 13 books, + some quilt books. Some are sappy, some are quite historic. You'll fall in love with the characters. Happy reading.
Firstly, Gammy, you got my giggle button going - N - nearly finished, N - what's Next, and I can add one more - Nothing done!!
Cheerio for now
PS Thanks Toni for the heads up on the Chiaverini books, I'll hold one at the library today.
Ok, it's Q, and I'm in a cheeky mood..... Q is for Quarters. Lots and Lots of (fat) Quarters. And no, dear husbands and partners, this is not referring to certain sections of quilters bodies (although I do have some bits that would qualify for the role). I love fat quarters, they're easy to fold, easy on the eye and easy to procure! Q is for Quarters!!!

R is for Rotary Cutter Blades ... I had to get some today cause isn't fabric a beast to cut with a dull blade.
Sampler quilt the one most of us start with and one I still love
Spot on Bakas, how many of us started with a sampler AND haven't finished it? I've notice though that sampler quilts are coming back, with a more modern version. I love the concept of the sampler, and the beginner quilter sampling a lot of the different genres of quilting. It can be a great learning curve.
Cheerio for now
T is for template. I'm happy we don't use them very often; I love my rotary cutter.
U is for UFO unfinished objects. Those quilts we seem to start but never seem to finish.
V Very very slow finishing this off lets get done and be ready for Judie's next delight
Oh Bakas, you read my mind!! and gave me a giggle. OK, W. W is for Width of Fabric. This term is not often used, but needs to be used in instructions, to describe that we cut from selvedge to selvedge whilst using the rotary cutter.
X is next!!
Cheerio for now
X is for the X Quartet patch which is also called the Flying X patch. It looks like it could find itself into one of my sampler quilts, but not until I finish what I've started. Don't want anymore of those UFOs, do I?
And we only have 2 left.
Y anyone??
Y is for yardage
I would like to finish this game off or else it becomes another UFO
Z IS FOR ZIP, FINIS, THE END, ALL DONE. We've had lots of fun with this but now, I'm going to have another game to play, this one might test your brains.
Keep watching this space
Cheerio for now
Judie B
Thank you Judie all sewn up at last
That was fun
