Have you ever asked a friend to take a look at your resume?

Unless your friend is a manager, recruiter or in HR, you may not be getting the advice you need, sure they may be able to catch the typos for you, but chances are they may not have the experience to offer truly useful advice and to know what companies are looking for.

You may also have that friend who will say, "looks good" just so they won't hurt your feelings. As kind as that may be, it won't help you.

Your best option is to find someone with experience to take a look and offer suggestions. Check out your local unemployment commission, look through your local newspaper, check a church in your area - many offer job assistance in helping to put a resume together.
