I unfortunately have my first cold of the season even though summer is barely over! :-( I am nursing my cold with bowls of chicken soup and tons of water and hot tea. What do you guys eat and drink to help your colds?
I love homemade chicken soup, too and hot tea. But I also love to make homemade tomato soup and drink OJ - both have lots of vitamin C.

Easy tomato soup:
12 ripe tomatoes - cut up, fresh is best
2 cloves garlic minced
1 bunch basil (5-6 leaves) finely minced
1 Tbsp olive oil

place all ingredients in crockpot for 10 (or so) hours. In batches, puree in blender until smooth. Strain to catch any seeds. Serve hot, and freeze any leftovers.
