Hi Clairehobby, Sorry I am so late in getting back to you. I start out getting a pedigree chart and fill it out. Then, I try to fill in the missing spots. Here is a great website that is wonderful for someone starting out. They even have free charts, like the Pedigree I mentioned to print off. BYU Ancestors Site
