I'm curious what you guys think are the top blues songs you've heard?
I was looking at some lists and many people vote for "Crazy Blues". Amazingly, this was done by Mamie Smith who in the 1920s became the first African American (male OR female) to make a blues album! It's neat that it was a female that did it. Also, it sold a million copies!
The recording we have nowadays sounds a bit tinny - I wonder what she would have sounded like live.
