i thought would make a rant thread for people who want to get things out but dont have anyone to talk to about it! i'm so annoyed, today i went to the opticians and found out i have to have an operation on my eye, my parents are refusing to give me a lift back from the hospital even though its only a 20 minute or so drive away! they are just telling me to take the bus back but 1. i have no money! 2. i have issues getting on public transport due to confidence issues and 3. I WILL HAVE JUST HAD AN OPERATION AND PROBABLY BE IN PAIN SO I DONT WANT THE HASSLE OF THAT! grr so annoying that they cant make 20 minutes out of their day for me! when for anyone else they could! it sucks cos i dont think anyone else will take me and i just think its something my parents should happily do!

Eye operations of any kind freak me out. I can't imagine not giving family a lift. I took my MIL and it was an hour drive each way.

Mammn,

Im sorry to hear about your eye operation, thats very scary. And to feel that you have no support from your family must be heartbreaking.

Rants can be liberating as we get things off of our chest. Then after the rant, we move on to coming up with viable solutions to our dilemmas. I know it is not easy, but try to be positive. Negativity will not do you any good.

I actually went through something similar myself. I went home via public transportation after getting my wisdom teeth yanked. I thought I would be fine as I didnt know how much pain Id be in after the procedure. I was in agonyand alone. And in this agony, I went to fill my prescriptions by myself and waited until the meds were ready. I would not recommend this.

If your family cant help you for whatever reason, then think outside of the box, a friend, a neighbor, an old classmate from school? The person can either drive you home or take the bus with you. Also perhaps if your friends/family cant accompany you due to work or other obligations, maybe they can lend you money to take a cab. Try to barter, offer to return the favor etc.

(For more tips, see How to Ask for Help).

Good luck and please do keep us posted.

Your parents should meet mine!

My dad would of driven me but he and mom would of find other ways to stress me out more and to also in the same time drive me crazy.

I hope your operation went well.

This is my worst nightmare, something bad happening to my eyes! I am freaking out just from reading your post and thinking about it! Anything else I could deal with it eventhough my tolerance of pain is extremely low but the eyes no way I could deal with that! I even freak out when I see too much into someone's eyes!
A rant thread?! I will be back!

I wish someone would've started this thread before now! LOL

And Mammm - get new parents honey! Sorry to hear you have no support from them. What about a friend?

I'm currently feeling fairly mellow, but every now and again am given over to ranting. As the Terminator (and Korie) said: I'll be back.
