An Appeals Court in Trenton, NJ has made a stipulation in a young sex offender's probation.

Until, he turns 18 years old, He must tell the parents of every girl he dates, that he is a sexual offender.

When, he was 14 years old he molested his 6 year old half sister.

I voted Yes.

I thought about the seriousness of the crime.
I thought about once you pay your debt to society, we are to forget about it.
I can't forget she was 6 years old and he was 14.
And, I do realize there is a grave possibility this is due to a Mental illness.

I have a 6 yr. old granddaughter, which I envisioned going through this.

I even tried to imagine as a Mother how I would have felt IF it would have been my son?

I still come up with the same answer, Yes.

Anybody want to shed some light on Why they believe this isn't a good decision?

14 is old enough to know right from wrong in my opinion. He seriousley needs help before he offends again.

I can't believe he is walking the streets, but I guess I shouldn't be surprised. Why does he get to stop notifying at 18? This should be a lifetime. I can be somewhat liberal (according to my mother) but not on this.

What kind of help is he getting during these four years?

I also voted YES and I also wonder what help he is receiving. I would also wonder what may have been happening to HIM in the past!???

Hey, freespirit, SkinnyDipr & patience

I presume and I hope counseling is not only being given to this youngman, the 6 year old girl, but the entire family as a whole.

I couldn't find out through my research IF this boy was removed from the home.

How could you allow him to remain there, to repeat a crime against his victim, his 6 year old half sister. Could someone answer that for me?

I agree. I also wonder what has been going on in that family. Certainly counselling with all the family members should be taking place, and I see great dangers of leaving the boy in the same environment with his half sister. How can the parents be sure he won't do it again?!! They can't possibly follow them around all day and all night!
