Hi Narrawallee,

What kind of a cap are you looking for?

Hi Narrawallee,

I did find a free pattern to knit a small cap. It is available in preemie size which might fit your doll. You can find the instructions Here.

If it asks you to register before showing you the pattern, do so, it's free.

If this is not the kind of cap you wanted, give me more detail about what you are looking for and I will try to find it.

Hi Narrawallee,

I have done some searching, but I haven't found anything. The best advice I can give you is to find a real boys cap that you like, maybe in a toddler size and use it as a pattern. Carefully take it apart and trace each piece onto paper then make each piece just a little smaller. Remember to only decrease the size a little because as each piece is smaller, it will be much smaller when all put together.

Make your first cap with throw away fabric to see if you like the end result. When you see the size of your finished cap you can adjust up or down in size as needed.

I hope this helps, and please share a photo of your cap when finished.

Narrawallee and Helen,

Here is a link to "how to make baseball caps" that may help. The size needed depends on the measurement of the head.

Baseball Cap

Hope this helps. I do not know if it is a baseball cap you need or just a simple cap with no visor -- however, a simple cap can be made the same way without the visor.

What is a UBB code
Posted By: Phyllis Doyle Burns Re: Dolls Cap - 01/08/11 02:38 AM
Glad that will help you, narrawallee.

A UBB code is a special code that adds formatting to links, like I did above. New members cannot add links until a certain number of postings have been made (I cannot remember how many). That is a BellaOnline policy which helps with a lot of spamming and advertising problems.

If you just type in the name of the site you found, I can find it. I am curious to see what you found.

Do not try to put in a link, the system will not allow you to. Just type in the site name, such as: doll caps, or whatever the name of the site is.

Doll Net Market

Great site! Is that the one you found? I do not see any patterns for a boy doll cap though. They sure have some darling dolls.

Helen makes some really cute dolls and has free patterns along with her articles.

Thank you for looking and your comments. Made him for a charity for this Christmas ( 2011 ) this will be my third year, started early this year so I hope to get a few done. With his shirt I thought what about making a Polo Shirt so I just thought I would give it a go and it turned out, with the pants and cap my daughter asked me to make her jeans into shorts so I used the cut off's for clothes for him. How many post do I have to do before I can put up a link, and I have a project site as well do I have to have so many post before I can put that up as well it has some of the things I make.

I don't know what the number is, but you have to have a number of posts before you can put ANY link into a post. But you can always type out the URL for the link and readers can cut and paste it themselves, as I did.
