I am a 26 years old and I have never had an orgasm. I am having trouble finding resources online that help explain why this is happening. They all suggest that I masturbate and know my body, which I do. But I still can't orgasm. So any guidance would be appreciated! I am wondering if maybe I have some hidden hormonal problems that I should test for? or perhaps it is linked to child abuse? I was never sexually assaulted, but my mother emotionally, psychologically and physically abused me until I left home. Even after I left home she continued to verbally abuse me. If it can be linked to child abuse (that was not sexual), please point me in the direction of resources where I can read more about it and figure out how I can overcome whatever it is that is hindering this healthy experience. Any advice is Most appreciated! and to hear your similar stories would make me feel better too! Thanks very much!
9af5,
Thank you for stopping by the forum. I am not sure whether or not child abuse can affect a person in that way, but I will do my best to research it and find out for you. Should I find any information, I will let you know.
Thank you so much for that reply!!! I really appreciate it!
It makes sense to me that being abused in any way could affect our ability to orgasm and to realize that we are deserving of love and of pleasure. I wonder if you could try saying "I am a sexual being and I am worthy pleasure." Maybe this will help. Let me know if it works. I am not a therapist but was abused myself.
lizk,
Thank you for what you said, it makes perfect sense. We are deserving of love and pleasure, though we may not feel that we are. I think your recommendation is very valid and hope that it helps 9af5.
Thank you for your suggestion! it reminds me of self hypnosis. I will try it :)
