What are dreams? What do you think?

Can you add to this list?

Hi Lori,
I would like to vote, but I was thinking about my dreams last week and so many of them are actually not very pleasant so I don't want to speak them into existence. Most have been with me since highschool.

So what would be your thoughts on when you find the majority of one's dreams are often nightmares in the making :-)

Hi Lori, BREAK In addition to your questions, I think dreams can also give insight to your future, let you know when something is happening inside your body and clarity about unresolved issues. I do believe they can help you figure out who you really are and what your purpose is here in this world and physical body. BREAK I must be in some kind of dream-phase right now because I have been dreaming so much in the past couple of weeks. LOL - Last night I kicked back and had a beer with Kid Rock, Luke Bryan and my real-life boyfriend. I had to giggle about when I woke up. BREAK Stacy

Oh Stacy, what great insights! YES! Dreams can provide insight into your future and let you know when something is happening in your body! Absolutely! Unresolved issues! YES! That is when dreams can be very helpful indeed. smile

I used to dream about my feet and legs a lot. Little did I know that diabetic neuropathy was developing in my feet.

As for purpose, when I was a little girl, I dreamed about that, too.

In your dreams about hanging out with Kid Rock and Luke Bryan, ask yourself what about these two do you like or admire?

Dianne, if your dreams lately are nightmares, it is time to examine your waking life. If you like, you can share some of your nightmares here or in PM and I can help. smile

As for Kid Rock, I drool over him and I am really into his newest CD "Rebel Soul". In my dream last night, he kept trying to kiss and hug me and I kept telling him no. He stopped when my boyfriend walked in. As for Luke Bryan, his music and videos are sexually charged and he is quite attractive. I admire him from a Writer's point of view, also. I love his smile!

It depends. Sometimes dreams are meaningless and sometimes are helpful.

Well, stardrifting. Dreams allow us to live out all possibilities. The "message" in these particular dreams is simply that you are "living" your dream of being with some of the men you like.

When one daydreams of such things, they are called fantasies. When they occur at night during sleep, they are pleasant dreams! But often committed people feel guilty for dreaming about people other than their mates!

Do they have control over this? Is this cheating? Is this safe? {{shrug}} I'd say that if your waking life relationship is healthy, happy and solid, then the occasional little dream escape about being with another person means that there is some trait or quality you would like to acquire from this other person.

If your waking life relationship is unsatisfying, then your dreams will deliver dream relationships that fulfill your desires.

Sometimes, they are simply harmless forays into a "possibility." Has anyone had a dream fantasy that was pure fun even though it would never come to pass in your waking life? Like being a rock star? Or flying? Or even being with a man or woman who was not your mate?

No one will admit it in public, I suppose, but I will: Once I dreamed that I was at a party and Barack Obama made out with me in a dark hallway. Hahaha! I told my husband who thought that was a funny dream, too.

BTW, I don't have a thing for Obama. But after being married for 27 years and handing over a lot of my personal power and independence to my husband, I want my mojo back! That's probably why I was making out with Obama in my dream. I want some of my own personal power!

I think it can be all of that. For me it's mostly about what I wish would happen to me. Almost all of my dreams are from my imagination, hopes and wishes. The majority of the rest of my dreams is me running away from psychopaths or being held captive by them but I never die or am seriously hurt in those dreams, the ones where I'm about to die or be hurt it's like rewind is pushed and it starts again or I end up somewhere else in another dream.
