I know, Marian doesn't officially leave until tomorrow morning, but for computer purposes, she's already left the building...(rubs hands together mischievously  )so...who feels like playing?

With the colours of fall upon us and Halloween quickly approaching, can I interest you in a *seasonal* game?? Let's see how many animals (or birds, fish, whatever) we can come up with that are either all black, all orange, or orange AND black. Let's do one per post. Some will be obvious and easy, some will be easy but less obvious and some may require you to boot up the old thinking cap...I wonder how many we can list... :rolling:
Tiger!
Baltimore Oriole
Ummm....goldfish? fish
Ladybug (mine really do look mainly orange with black spots though I suspect others may be more red than orange)
Um...my cats, Mia and Lexi!!!

These are not current pictures; in fact, these are the very first photos I have of them, taken by Marian back in July when she was here and came with me to get them!! Needless to say, I have taken MANY more since....perhaps one day, I may even learn how to post pictures here!! (but don't hold your breath!! )
Good Idea Shelley!

A Bullock's Oriole.

Rose
The Orange Bishop

Rose
Black Panther
A jaguar
A Clown Fish (aka, Nemo!!) Enature.com came up with a big fat zero when I tried to find this fish in its field guide. It must have some other *official* name. I only know it as a clown fish from the movie, Finding Nemo. But then, I know very little about fish so it isn't surprising. Except I know it IS black and orange!!
A red fox (whose fur, of course, isn't any more *red* than a human *red-head's* hair is *red*....right?!)
The American Crow, of course!!!
I've come across a few Eastern Box turtles that were mostly orange and black. But most are yellow and black.
Halloween Pennant Dragonfly
Monarch Butterfly
And, of course, the Viceroy (isn't he the copycat of the Monarch?)
My dear sweet neighbour, the Black Squirrel.
Ahem.
Grackles!
Brewer's Blackbird
Shiny Cowbird (not to be confused with the Brown headed Cowbird)
Carpenter Ant
Giant Black Water Beetle
Orchard Oriole
Seal. (can I be that generic?? Black shiny seal, the ones who balance balls on their noses! Hahaha! Ahem)

Well, Leequi, that's more like it!!
Raven
Black Vulture
Wooly Bear Caterpillar
Orangutan (A bright red-orange.)
How about those cute little hamsters? I think they are called Golden Hamsters but they look orange enough to me!!

(Rose, I also thought of orangutans while in the car this morning but I see you beat me to it!! )
MANGO!!! Marian's former cat, now officially adopted by Karen!! Mango is a beautiful ORANGE cat!!
Here's a couple of Halloween favourites:

a black cat
Another Halloween mascot:

The bat
Cheetah!

(grrr... the head got cut off in this configuration!! How dumb! Try changing it to the 35-piece *jigzone* configuration, by clicking on the *shapes* button)
Great puzzle Shelley! I liked the difficulty of the round one. Even if the head was cut off.

DH suggested Dung Beetle. LOL They are a nice shiny black.

How about (c)antelope? You know, as in "Oh, give me a home, where the buffalo roam,

Where the deer and the (c)antelope play..."

I know this one may be a stretch, but you said some of the answers might not be so obvious, and I think you'll have to agree that this one would qualify as one of those obscure answers that could easily be glossed over.

~~Leequi :rolling:
Black bear

(and Leequi, you're a nut! But I think that beetle photo is quite cool! In YOUR yard, though, not mine! Haha)
How about a chimpanzee? They are black! (and how come it took me this long to think of that one!? My favourite primate!)
The Blackwing Damselfly
Field Cricket (which come in black or brown)
The Baltimore and Checkerspot caterpillars and butterflies which attractively combine patterns containing orange and black
The Goldentail Moray Eel
The Asian Long-horned beetle, the current *pest-du-jour* here in Toronto, a real concern. This photo of this black and white beetle was in the paper just yesterday. I'm sorry if the whole article has to appear in this link; if I right-click on the picture only, I won't be able to post that here (you all know how computer-challenged I am!). The picture that appeared in my actual newspaper (not the online version) was huge and showed what it looks like much better than this.
