I attended the Western riding portion of the Del Mar National Horse Show last week. I knew William Shatner (of Boston Legal and Star Trek fame) was attending some part of this 5 week long show, but had no idea he would be there, and riding no less, that very day and time I got there.

I took these wonderful pictures there of him and his daughter.

But first, there was a driving event, a sport I have long been interested in, and I got to see some competition in this. This lovely lady in period dress was there:

Here's Bill, waiting for his turn to go. Though I wanted to run up and ask for an autograph (I had such a crush on him when I was little!), he was watching his daughter ride, and I thought it would not be polite to interrupt that.

And she can ride, too! Here she is on a second horse. She took second in one class and placed 5th or 6th in another.
