The trivia contest will begin Monday, April 26th, 2004. Keep your eyes on this thread for questions! The first two people to answer 10 trivia questions correctly will win the prize. This contest is open to anyone living in the US who is aged 18 or older. Only posts that are unedited will be accepted as answers. Prize will be shipped to the winner at no cost to the winner.

http://www.bellaonline.com/misc/sweeps/rules.asp To read my review of this beautiful deck, visit:
http://www.bellaonline.com/articles/art19552.asp The trivia questions will be general questions about New Age stuff like astrology and chakras, as well as angels, religion, myth, healing, New Age/New Thought authors, and spirituality. You will be able to find some of the answers in my articles.
Check back Monday! You never know when I'll post a question. <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> (I tend to post more than one question a day.)
First question:
In Celtic Astrology, what is the tree symbol for October 28-November 24?
The Reed Tree...I'm the Holly Tree :rolling:
Blessed Be,
Josh
Correct Josh! :music: It's the Reed! (I'm a Reed <img src="/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" /> )
Josh: 1 Point
Question:
There are 13 tree symbols in Celtic Astrology, but one particular date, December 23, has a unique title all to its own. What is it?
Correct, Shannon! :music: It's The Nameless Day.
Josh: 1 Point
Shannon: 1 Point
Question:
In traditional Tarot, what is the number assigned to the Hermit?
Correct, Shannon...it's 9. :music:
Unfortunately, Josh, I won't be able to accept your answer of the Reed tree, because you edited your post. I can only accept unedited posts for this contest, as per the rules stated in my first post. <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
Shannon: 2 Points
Stay tuned for more questions!
Question:
How many trigrams are in the I Ching?
Correct Janey! :music:
Shannon: 2 Points
Janey: 1 Point
Question:
In astrology, what is the term for an aspect where 2 planets are in exactly together?
I edited it and added the "(I'm a Holly Tree)"
Oh well.
I'm really sorry about that. <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> In the future, if you forget something, you can just create a whole new post.
I saw your original post, and the correct answer was indeed unedited at that point. But because you edited it, I have to keep the contest above board and stick to the rule of "no edited responses allowed". This will protect me, the winners, and BellaOnline.com from charges of fraud.
I hope you understand! <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
Question:
"Yoga for the hands" is another name for what?
Uh, Janet...I think there are two open questions! I answered the last one, then re-read the thread. I believe the answer regarding the two planets in astrology is
They are in aspect?

Shannon: 2 Points
Janey: 2 Point
However, the answer is not correct about the two planets together. They are aspected, as all planets are. But what is the aspect called when the planets are together?

Shannon: 4 Points
Janey: 3 Point

Shannon: 4 Points
Janey: 4 Point
Josh: 1 Point
Question:
In Celtic astrology, what is the tree symbol for August 5 - September 1?
(I was turned on to the Abraham material last December....got one of the CDs right here! <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> It's changed my life!...although I don't do the channeling thing, I love the info!)
Correct, Janey! It's the Hazel tree. :music:
Shannon: 4 Points
Janey: 5 Point
Josh: 1 Point
Which Hicks CD did you get? I've not heard any of their audios, although I'm very familiar with the Law of Attraction. You'd love the Well Being Cards by them! (Note to self: write that review...)
Question:
In astrology, what is the name of the 90 degree aspect in a chart that represents challenges?
A couple of my friends have the monthly CD program. I have one from San Diego 2/15/03 with titles like:
1. Get Ready for Growth: Get Happy
2. On the Edge of Business Bliss (oh, note to self...listen to that one!)
3. An ultimate healer/teacher?
(hehehe would it be letting the cat outta the bag if I told you that last week when I went to Amazon to buy these cards, my Inner Counselor told me you'd be giving them away? My intention is out there to win <img src="/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> LOLOLOL THANKS, ABRAHAM!)
Correct, Janey! :music:
Shannon: 4 Points
Janey: 6 Point
Josh: 1 Point
Actually, I hadn't intended to give those cards away. I'm just reviewing them. <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
hehe....no, silly, the Archangels ones! Remember? I said I was going to buy them?
<img src="/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" /> I'm really not greedy...just want THESE cards! LOL

Ohhhh! OK! You mentioned them in the context of Abraham-Hicks so I assumed you meant that deck. <img src="/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />
Question:

Question:
In astrology, which House is the Moon associated with?
Correct, ringois! :music:
Shannon: 4 Points
Janey: 7 Point
Josh: 1 Point
Ringois: 1 Point
Question:
In astrology, the Sun is associated with what House?
<img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> btw, I used your recent article for my answer...as in the Sun passing through ALL 12 houses, thus producing one's "Sun Sign". However, I see it says it is ALSO associated with the 5th house.
So, since I see Ringois is back in the game (hiya, Ring! <img src="/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" /> ), I decided to go for the another approach!
Correct Ringois! :music:
Shannon: 4 Points
Janey: 7 Point
Josh: 1 Point
Ringois: 2 Point
The question was which House (singular) is the Sun associated with, not which house does the Sun pass through. All planets and luminaries pass through all the Houses of the Zodiac. <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> That's what astrolgers read for transits and such.

Robert Graves from The White Goddess (another good book I recommend reading)
Shannon
Hmm. Well, that's not exactly what I had in mind. This is a group of people, around 500 B.C., who felt that each tree contained a dryad (magical tree spirit). <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

After looking up some information, it seems that Graves was indeed instrumental in solidifying Celtic astrology. But the Tree symbols, runes, and astrological correlation existed before him. I've bookmarked the page and read a bit of it already. Neat! Thanks for passing it along.
I have a fascinating book I'll be reviewing soon by the Phyllis Vega, the same author who co-wrote Power Tarot.

I'll agree that the tree symbols existed before him. My mother and father are members of RDNA and I know that this book caused some controversy within their grove. I am not a member nor have I read the book so I can't comment either way. I'm looking forward to reading your review.

You're most welcome, Shannon! I'm so happy for you! <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
By the way, I missed your other post. What is RDNA? Is a grove the same as "group"? I was reading some things on Graves after your post and he does appear to have generated some controversy. What was the biggest, do you think?
Janey <img src="/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

RDNA - Reformed Druids of North America
A grove is like a group, circle, coven, etc.
Pretty much anything dealing with historical references to the celtic or druid culture is touchy. Everything was oral, no one can really know what happened, how they really lived, etc, but they can speculate based on what facts we do know. The problem is some people speculate a little too much, putting their own spin on it and calling it "historical fact". That's where I have a problem. If someone says, this is my interpretation, then that's fine but if they say, this is fact, they'd better be able to back it up and most can't. I'll post some specifcs on Graves later, time to go home ; )
