How about a fun game of 20 questions?
I've drawn a card from a Tarot deck. Your job is to guess which card by asking me questions.
Who's first?
All right, Janet, let me start by asking the obvious question: is it a Major Arcana card?
By the way, this game is a great idea, Janet! I'm sure we'll have a lot of fun! :rolling:
Wee, cool game!
Question #2
(count it only if the answer to Q#2 is "No")
Is it one of the following: Wands, Swords.
Would there be a Queen involved?
(~~~waves to Janet ~~~ )

Would there be a Queen involved?
Nope!
Not unless you count you and me, Janey. HAHAHAHA! *waves furiously* Welcome to the board and good to see you here!
Howdy, Ma'm! LOL Wow...I was so thrilled to make a couple of clicks on your profile from over there and find all this WONDER here! *sigh* ain't life grand???

.......one of my favorite (personal) arkies:
Is there a Fool in the house?
((( Janet ))) Just wanted you to know I think you're da Bomb!
Janey
>Is there a Fool in the house?
No, it's not major arcana.
Is it swords?
(((Janey))) Bless your heart. I'm glad you found my humble abode on the web. IQ is correct: The Fool is a part of the Major Arcana, so that's a no. (Try again, oh eager student! Hehehe.)
Nope!
Is it a court card?
Hi Elena! Good to see you!
Nope!

Btw, after this game is over, I'll drawn another card and we'll play again.
Yep! :music:
Ice Queen is declared the winner of the first 20 Question Tarot Game. *hands her a box of expensive, albeit invisble, chocolate*
I'll start a thread for the new game as soon as I draw the card...
For someone like me still learning, would it be too much trouble if, when the card is revealed, you gave a small synopsis of what it meant?

Hi Janey!
What a great idea!
In Tarot, there are 22 Major Arcana cards (although some don't consider The Fool a part of the Majors), also know as Trumps, and the rest of the cards are Minor Arcana, also known as Pips. The Court Cards are Page, Knight, Queen, and King, although some modern decks take liberty with those designations. For example, The Quest calls the Court Cards Mother, Father, Daughter, and Son.
The Minor Arcans consists of 4 suits: Wands, Swords, Pentacles (also known as Disks or Coins), and Cups and goes from Ace up to 10. (Just like a deck of playing cards.)
The Cups suit is usually associated with emotions, feelings, and intuitions, among other things. The number 7 is usually associated with attitudes, dreams, motives--the internal psychological world.
So generally speaking, the 7 of Cups is a card of great potential and creativity. I see this card as almost a "razor's edge" card in the sense that there is a lot of potential with this card, but there's also a possibility for confusion--especially with emotions thrown in!
This is just a very brief syopsis off the cuff. You'd also have to take in consideration the placement of this card in relation to the question asked.
~~~~ Thank you, ever so, Ms. Janet ~~~~~
This helps! I'm actually searching for my first deck....sheesh, there are a gazillion styles out there. Knowing what you know about me *grin*, could you recommend a good starting point? I had a set of cards given to me when I was a teenager, and I have to say that my connection with them was very strong....I was looking at the Arthurian deck (??? correct title???) and the imagry was beautiful. I also appreciate the imagery on the Rider deck. I love Victorian era art, fairies, archetypes, etc., as opposed to things with witches, vampires or any particularly dark titles.
Any recommendations? (and thanks again!! ((( Janet )))
You are most welcome, Janey!
You know, decks are such personal things it's sometimes hard to tell what someone would like. For example, I loved the idea of the Inner Child Cards, which was my first deck, but I just could not read from it! It wasn't until I got the Quest Tarot. (Here's my review of that deck and pictures if you have't seen it yet: [url=BellaOnline ALERT: For anti-spam reasons, we restrict the number of URLs allowed in a given post. You have exceeded our maximum number of URLs.
Btw, Janey, this is not a traditional Tarot deck but it's a great Archetype deck--called the Wisdom Well. It's based on Jungian Archetypes.
Here's my review of it:
Cool! Let me know what you think of them when you get them! (Don't you just love Amazon.com?! They get entirely too much of my money. )
