Hello!

I've just posted a new article Us Versus Them: The Connection Between Belief and Suffering I admit, Im baffled by the incongruence in new age types who say that All is One and separation is an illusion, yet jump on popular spiritual bandwagons that gleam with black/white paintjobs...
I'm also apolytical *high five*
But I don't subscribe to the "all is one" belief to begin with. I am categorically *against* it. Each person must follow his/her own path, and probably has a different essence as well.
Welcome to the boards, IceQueen! ^5

I believe every individual indeed has their own path and their own essence that is absolutely unique. When I think of "All is One", I think of how all parts are connected, esentially made of the same "stuff". While we're all unique as humans, we all share basic desires and needs, including the need/desire to be loved, to experience peace, etc. Sometimes that gets clouded over by personality "wounds", though. We forget "who we are" in essence.

What part of "all is one" are you against or bugs you? Thinking that it means "all are alike"...or something else?

Interesting point you bring up!

(Btw, you've posted some interesting stuff on these threads on the New Age boards! I'm coming down with a massive headache, so I'll reply to your other posts/questions as soon as I can. I'm hoping that I'm not coming down with a head cold...)
I guess the part that bugs me is that "all is one" assumes we are all on one side. And I am so not on the side of some people.
Look at it this way, it's hard to choose "sides" when we all live on a round globe.

Seriously, though, we may not be "all one" in thought or belief, but at our core, we're all made of the same "stuff" and ultimately want the same general things. (Love, peace, security, etc.)
