I have a burning desire to write a book about my life as a child in a large family - the various trials and tribulations then and what has happened to the family and myself to date. It has consumed my life and I feel I need to do it but have no idea how to go about it. Would welcome any discussion or advise. cheers

Have you started writing notes on your memories?

If you journal you have already begun your book. This is a perfect way to start. I recently reviewed the first draft of a biography about family. The author's reason for writing her book is the same as yours. Her stories came together by simply writing her thoughts in a notebook. After a while she realized that she had a story to tell.

Go for it and just start writing. This type of book seems to be very popular these days.

I took a course at Writer's Weekly that was amazing. It helped me approach it from a chronological manner and to recall things I thought I had forgotten. Here's the link:

Hi Moe,

I am familiar with Writers Weekly and its publisher Angela Hoy but I did not realize she taught classes. I can't thank you enough for bringing WW to my attention, I had not visited this site in a long time. I have put the link in my favs <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
