The Homosassa Springs State Park is a great day out for anyone in the Central Florida area. Admission includes a boat trip, entry to the underwater observatory, native Florida animal exhibits and several ranger-led Animal Encounter shows.

Manatees and More at Homosassa Springs

That sounds like my kind of tour. We'll be travelling in summer so will miss the manatees.

Shame about missing the manatees but it's still a great state park/zoo/water park to visit when it's hot!

Your family may enjoy Tarpon Springs as well which is in that area - they still dive for sponges from the boat tours.
