The first frost of the season is promised for tonight, and I just brought in the last of the houseplants for the winter. I have over 30 of them, some are huge and 30 - 45 years old. They all needed to be washed, pruned, and checked for bugs; some needed repotting, and their winter habitats needed to be prepared too. (Not to mention training the new cat not to climb on them and dig in their pots!) Its a big job and took me longer than usual this year thanks to last week being too rainy and chilly to work in the yard. But now that the indoor jungle is back in place, I'm glad to have them all around me again. Somehow the house looks so sterile all summer without plants filling every window.

I've just done the same thing; unfortunately I have more plants than actually fit indoors in my home! Some new acquisitions this summer have been a Yucca Palm, Banyan Tree and Plumeria...all of which are BIG and would love to have that prime space in my picture window. We'll just have to see what makes it and what doesn't. Maybe my neighbors would like a new houseplant? lol
