Just finished an article about stella-names -- that is, all the baby names that can be traced back to stella, the Latin word for "star."

Which of these variants is your favorite - Estella, Estelle, or just plain Stella?
Hi Nancy,
I chose Stella as I have a friend named so. Her full name is Stellarina (her Mom was a balletomane and loved Margot Fonteyn and Anna Pavlova). I am sure she is the only Stellarina that is named so as it is a mix of Stellar and Ballerina and Margot after whom she was named.

Her younger sister is Annabella Margot. Margot has now become that family's favoured second name for all the girls born. They decided on that for the line and are hoping that all will carry it on for many many years to come. So far they have Ashleigh Margot, Suzanna Margot and Brianna Margot .. nieces. The next baby girl about to make an entrance will be named Tamara Margot, first granddaughter.

P S Estella reminds me of Miss Havisham's revenge from Dickens' Great Expectations and Estelle sounds like Mom is cross with me! Smiling.

Cheers
Stellarina - what an unique name!

And Margot makes a lovely middle. What a nice tradition. smile
