Native Americans love to make and bead bags. One bag that is popular and very useful is the Parfleche. It takes the place of a modern day suitcase. The traditional bags were made of tough hide to double as a shield in case of attack.

I am packing my Parfleche and taking a trip, by horse, to the Grand Canyon. Let's play the ABC game of packing and come along with me to enjoy the spectacular scenery and learn some historical facts about the Grand Canyon and the culture of the Native Americans who still live there.

I will begin by packing my parflech with:

A
Arrows - just in case of attack by wild animals

Next: What will you pack that starts with the letter 'B'
Posted By: YogaEditor Re: Packing My Parfleche Game - 01/11/10 10:42 PM
B - Bacon, smoked it does't spoil and it's for cooking over that open campfire (you will have one?)
