What is the most important thing in your life?

How easily would it be to give up?

The most important thing in my life if my life's goal, or at least what I believe to be my life's goal

it is very hard to give up

the most important thing in my life is my devotion to YHWH... and unfortunatly being human it is all too easily given up if i make the mistake of slacking off on my bible study (one more reason to keep on reading)
The most important thing in my life has to be my relationship with Jesus Christ.

As I have gotten older I have realized that so many things (and even people) that seemed so important to me at one time were really transient.
A husband, who I thought was the love of my life, proved unfaithful, my life goals have changed about every 5-10 years. Children have a high rank on 'the most important things' but they grow up and have their own lives. If they are the [color:"red"] most [/color] important thing, you don't have much left.

The most important thing in my life must be the One who never changes.

I agree with Lynn, the most important thing in my life is also my relationship with Christ. Through Him all things that have been given to me matter. My family, my friends and my life...all because of Him...Thank you Lord.

I want to say I could give up anything for Christ, just as he asked.

How hard that would be though. My kids, my security, my life, my husband all matter to me and without them I would be destroyed here on earth.

But to think of the alternative, an eternity without Christ seems to make the rest seem less significant.

I am so thankful that God has given me a life full of blessings. I look forward to what he has in store for me next. What a wonderful Lord we have, may I always remember that.

The most important thing in life is life itself. But I would easily give it up, 'cos I'm unlikely to be sorry after all.

The gift is never as significant as the giver. God gave life so He is supreme as all life flows from Him.

The most important thing in my life is LOVE.

And 'giving it away' - to others, is the real treasure. If I get it back in return, then that is a blessing, but if not, I'm happy to go on giving it anyway.

Thats very sweet patience,If only everyone was like this.

Thanks Freespirit, I believe that most people really want to do this, but often anger and resentment get in the way. We are only human, but if it helps, I have found that it is very difficult NOT to love people once you have really looked into their faces. I believe that eyes really are the 'windows to the soul' and when you truly 'LOOK' at someone, you will see either love, or pain.

The love is easy to return, and the pain can help you to understand why the 'love' isn't there, and then you can feel compassion.

That's how it works for me!

May you always find the love.

You're all missing the point....

When you die, you'll have to give it ALL up....There is no selection here...If You are Christian, God's Love and your Love for God, is eternal - there is nothing therefore, to GIVE up.... it will continue after you leave this Mortal Coil....

If you are a non-Christian, the only things (through logical extension of thought) that you would have to give up, are material...and attachment to material things is attachment to the impermanent - including your own Life.

As a Buddhist I am attached to some things, but in a non-grasping, non-clinging, non-desperate way - I have them now, I treasure them. I will have to give them up, so I have already let them go....

The above sentence you wrote struck a chord in me....I get moments like this when I look at someone and feel so much love and the weird thing is that I do not "know" the person from a bar of soap.

What you say makes alot of sense and it is how I have always been myself.

Dont ever change who you are - I think you are on the right path...

The most important things in my life are my husband, children and grandchildren. I cannot understand why some people would put the deity ahead of their loved ones!
Posted By: Carennedy Re: Where Is Your Treasure? - 09/16/06 10:19 PM
I can put God first because my family is a gift from God, without God I would never have received them. Without God I never would have known how to love them. Without God I would not be here.

You are entitled to you opinion Carennedy, but I doubt that God has much to do with us being here or not!

It makes more sense to me then coming from some ooze out of the sea by chance.

As I say you are entitled to you opinion, but the creation story makes a lot less sense to me that evolution!

If God is all knowing, then why did he create us in the first place if he knew we were going to "fall in sin"?

That is a question I often ask myself! One could be forgiven for thinking that God has really screwed up!

Why do we have kids? We know that will cause our life to change, they will cause us heart ache, that will hate us at times, and in the end they leave us.

We know that this world is screwed up and a terrible place to raise children but we still want them, why?

When you've answered these questions you'll know why God created us.

no, jesus doesn't hold up a mirror and say reflect me. it says, a mirror is a reflection of ones self. so there was no need for jesus to look at himself because it was reflected in the way he was humble patient compassionate working miracles...

We have to deal with things as they are, god messed up, if we believe he/she had any input in creating us, not us!
