With the New Year fast approaching, this is the time when we generally look back over the past months and remember all the major news stories, movies, music, etc. With Emerging Music in mind, what new band or artist was your favorite of the year 2011?

I have not had much time to listen to music, but do plan on going back next year - yes "famous" New Year's Goal(lol).

Great New Years goal! Music is good for the soul
My personal favorites have been The Civil Wars, Lissie, Foster The People (who are now world-wide celebrities!), Florence and The Machine (who is not an emerging artist, but I couldn't get enough her!), and also Coeur de Pirate. I plan to incorporate these awesome artists into the Emerging Music site, so keep a look out for them!
