A school official in Mississippi stated that she was worried that homeschoolers might not be receiving top quality educations from their parents.

This was certainly puzzling when I went here:

I've sent her an email expressing my surprise that a state that has only 18 percent of its fourth graders reading at grade level--and only eight percent of its black fourth graders--would be worried that our children don't get top quality education.
I saw these.

I guess what cracks me up is that MS has been ranked betwnn #46 and 51 in state rankings (out of 51) for the past 10 yrs...so obviously the state isn't doing that bang-up of a job.

Even if the homeschool kids don't get much of an education, neither are the ps kid.

I reside and homeschool in Mississippi. I am very disappointed with what the school offers.

A frightening number of students entering college are unprepared. Employers face the same problems in dealing with students entering the work force. Can we really do worse than that for our children?
