Read the passage. <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Paul was speaking to believers but what two groups was he talking about?

What brought the two groups together?

Are there differences in Christian believers today?

What does this passage mean to all of us?

Jews and Gentiles

Belief in Jesus

Yes. Protestan, Catholic, Fundamental, Evangelical. and more I guess <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

It means that we are all the same in our belief of Jesus and all the other stuff doesn't make any difference.
Thank you for your answer Razorannie.

2 groups - Yes, the Jews and Gentiles of that day. The Jews and Gentiles were not 'friends' The Jews had been tought and had grown up knowing the One God. Gentiles had pagan beliefs. They didn't believe in or know God and didn't know of God's promise or His blessings.
The Jews knew these things but didn't know a 'relationship' with Him. Now as believers in Jesus Christ, both groups were united in love and in a close relationship through Christ.

What brought them together? I gues I answered that. Jesus. They could overcome their differences by their most important belief in Jesus Christ.

Different groups of believers Right again Razorannie. It's too bad that so many times the denominations focus on their different styles of worship and many insignificant things, instead of the one thing that brings everyone together. Jesus, New Life, Salvation

The only thing that counts is Jesus, He died on the cross, Saved the world, arose from the dead, gave us eternal life.

I guess the arguments between denominations isn't new if it started with the first followers of Jesus. I read somewhere that the apostles even suffered from it occasionaly. Wouldn't you think that those who saw Jesus would have had it straight?
Yes, I'm not sure where it is but one or two of the apostles tended to be descriminatory toward some Gentile believers until it was brought to their attention.

I'm glad that is in the Bible because it shows that they were real people, learning as they went, just as we do.

Thankfully, when we recognize our errors and repent, we are forgiven and can go on.
