Hiya, to an extent. when i do readings, other than for myself... i dont like knowing the question. so i could receive a message of something that 'definitely maybe' could happen. Hugs, diana

i think tarot can foretell the future depending on which sphere the question is asked.also certain situations also have one outcome possible depending on when it is asked.mainly itexploresthe possibilities one can chose from,and in thiscase it canbecome areal labyrinth.every labyrinth has anexit but it never is the same exit for all labyrinths.
i love the tarot for what it teaches mainly or to show me where i am,like markers.
i think foretelling the future is possible on a lower vibration scale,otherwise with the help of our destiny and purpose we already know the future,and there s a part where we are free to create it.it s like being given a house and you can do whatever you want with it by respecting what you are.
but when you tell yourself i want to do this or be that you basically will need to do something to make it happen so your future is pretty much done.

I find Divinitaive Tarot works as a focus for the 'subconscious' to communicate with the 'concious' aspects of the mind via the symbols inherent in the cards themselves and the layout. Different symbols "jump out" of the same card in different readings, making it mean a lot more than just the accepted stock ones mentioned in books. This is why there is a lot more to Tarot than just fortune telling.

Thanks for stopping by I totally agree that Tarot is more than just fortune telling. I never really got into the "fortune telling" aspect of it, but more looking at it as a tool to tell me where things are likely headed based on the choices I am making etc. It's a way to see possible scenarios.

I think sometimes people want Tarot and other divination tools to tell them what IS going to happen - and that takes the power away from the querrent - life is all about choices .

I agree also that stock definitions in books are definitely not the way to go when learning Tarot and how to make it an effective tool.

I concur with that- especially as I use Tarot with people in a counselling situation when appropriate.

I agree completely with Ian. In my view by focusing on a graphical image one allows their dominant conscious mind to relax a bit and hear the many messages from the subconscious - messages which were probably always there but were getting lost before. It is a guidance tool.

And as Ian said, I believe that what a person reads in a card is not only very personal but can change in shades of meaning from situation to situation. On one reading it could be the bird that strikes one as key, while on another reading it could be the candle.
