I, on the other hand, had such trouble choosing my "Ultimate Piece", because anytime I take the time to learn a song to play it; I have emotions tied up in a piece.
So songs with the most signifigance to me are almost always the ones I have personally played or sung myself.
The ones that come immediatley to mind are Beethoven's "Moonlight Sonata" (Sonata Quasi Una Fantasia). This song is so hauntingly lovely, but also I would play it when I was feeling sad (of course) it just fits! And the emotion just flows into the keys. I've also mentioned American composer Edward MacDowell's "Hungarian". I play this for pure stress or frustration relief it is loud banging, and all over the keyboard fomr top to bottom! I also won three separate competitions and a scholarship with this piece, so it's definitely going to hold good memories!
And then when I'm in a good mood - happy, I sing; but it's not usually classical. It's usually more like Aretha! (sorry - I've got soul )
Y'all may not have gotten a sentimental new host, but you've gotten an emotional one at least!
