What do hiring managers look for when they are trying to fill a single or limited number of vacancies? One of our management readers who screens resumes, recruits and hires sent in some very valuable tips.
1- When filling out applications or submitting resumes PROOFREAD what you're submitting. Don't just rely on spellcheck to get the job done.
2-If possible, get a second set of eyes. Ask a family member or friend to take a look. A fresh pair of eyes will catch many of the mistakes that you might have missed.
3-Take some time to research the company that you're applying to AS WELL AS the position you're applying to.
Managers and recruiters can tell who is serious about the job and who has done their "homework".
With so many applicants to chose from, make sure you don't get crossed off the list by taking a little extra time in the front end.
How you apply can be a true indicator of your job performance and what kind of employee you will be.
THANK YOU dear reader and we look forward to more of your input and suggestions!!!
