Hey everyone! I saw this great tip at
Glamour and thought I'd share it. Here are some ways to get healthy, commercial hair:
-Spritz on shine: Just mist a shine spray into the air, cover your face with your hands and walk through for a superfine coating that wont leave hair one bit greasy. A good one: Aussie Sun-Touched Shine Conditioning Shine Spray ($5).
-Blow in some brilliance: Use that nozzle thingy that came with your dryer when you do a blowout. It helps direct the air so it doesnt spray in different directions, says Rodney Cutler, owner of Cutler Salons in New York City. That flattens the cuticle, leaving hair smooth and shiny. Also, use the cool setting on your dryer. It allows the cuticle to seal, says Cutler, resulting in a smooth look.
-Rinse with cider: This shiner-upper comes from world-renowned hair stylist Frederic Fekkai: Comb a mix of one tablespoon of apple cider vinegar and 16 ounces of water through damp hair, and then shampoo. It gets rid of buildup and helps hair shine again.
-Try a clear glaze: It deposits a lightweight coating of silicone for serious shine, and lasts about a couple of weeks. Two good ones: John Frieda Luminous Color Glaze ($10) and Clairol Natural Instincts Shine Happy ($9).I use a lot of product so the apple cider/vinegar definitely helps get rid of all the excess gunk in my hair.
