Hey everyone! I saw this great tip at Glamour and thought I'd share it. Here are some ways to get healthy, commercial hair:

-Spritz on shine: Just mist a shine spray into the air, cover your face with your hands and walk through for a superfine coating that wont leave hair one bit greasy. A good one: Aussie Sun-Touched Shine Conditioning Shine Spray ($5).

-Blow in some brilliance: Use that nozzle thingy that came with your dryer when you do a blowout. It helps direct the air so it doesnt spray in different directions, says Rodney Cutler, owner of Cutler Salons in New York City. That flattens the cuticle, leaving hair smooth and shiny. Also, use the cool setting on your dryer. It allows the cuticle to seal, says Cutler, resulting in a smooth look.

-Rinse with cider: This shiner-upper comes from world-renowned hair stylist Frederic Fekkai: Comb a mix of one tablespoon of apple cider vinegar and 16 ounces of water through damp hair, and then shampoo. It gets rid of buildup and helps hair shine again.

-Try a clear glaze: It deposits a lightweight coating of silicone for serious shine, and lasts about a couple of weeks. Two good ones: John Frieda Luminous Color Glaze ($10) and Clairol Natural Instincts Shine Happy ($9).

I use a lot of product so the apple cider/vinegar definitely helps get rid of all the excess gunk in my hair. Check out Glamour for more cool tips. Apart from the free advise to rinse with cider, I'm a bit sceptic to try them, since they cost money and can be replaced by finishing the washing with cold water to seal the cuticle. Haven't tried the apple cider vinager yet, but a good glazing at the salon can help as well, together with a good shampoo and conditioner recommended at your salon.

Guess what? I give massages and reiki. More info here!

My grandmother used to say that redheads should rinse with apple cider vinegar and blonds should rinse with lemon juice. - Good advice. The acidic nature of each takes off soap residue and closes the cuticle. The lemon helps to lighten blond hair. I'm not sure if the apple cider vinegar does anything for the red color.

Now we have products that are specificly for the purpose of creating healthy, shiny hair and work a little better.
