Dozens (or hundreds) of people shared messages via Facebook and Twitter about the situation of Nick Dupree and Alejandra Ospina during the five day power outage in their area caused by Superstorm Sandy.

Those of us far away from loved ones, friends and complete strangers affected by the storm were horrified by pictures and stories about the devastation and hardship.
