In some branches of Magick, Paganism, Theosophy, and New Thought systems this technique is known as a 'Treasure Map'. They come in many forms. This months "It's Fate", a UK spiritual magazine even has an article on how to design one based on the Chinese Bagua compass system.

Very interesting, Ian. When I first heard about/started using visioning (back in the late 80's), it was called Treasure Mapping. I had no idea of the history, though.

Thank you for reminding me to refocus on my vision board. It got disassembled during our move and I never reassembled it. It is time to recreate it. Boy, is it time!

Great article Deb. I had not made one of these since I was in high school but was thinking I could do a virtual one over at Polyvore since you can import virtually anything in there and manipulate it to look any way you like. I'm working on that today.

Good luck, guys! I'd love to see your boards, or just hear about them. Monica, are you talking about Polyvore the fashion site? If so, that sounds very interesting--I thought that was just clothes.

You can do anything on that site. Lots of people use it for art especially surreal art so you can use it any way you like. Some of the kids I come across there create some pretty wild collages. It's really fun to see other people's creativity just flow like that. I get inspiration from there daily.

This is such a good idea Deb! I've had so much fun making them - but it is definitely time for an updated one! I have a lot I want to accomplish this year!

Have you seen those sites that offer software for vision boards? Some are free. You can install them as your desktop or screensaver. I have found the free ones to be somewhat limiting as far as images go so I was thinking of creating my own and then creating an image file to install as my desktop and screensaver.

Has anyone used vision board software?
