I love quilting! My favorite quilt is one I made that involved all my siblings. I sent each of them (seven) a muslin square and asked them to draw, embroidery, or applique something on it for our Mother. Most of them just drew a picture in pencil then I embroidered it. Even some of the grandchildren got involved. I sewed them all together with borders, a top panel and a bottom panel.

On the top panel I embroidered "With Love to Mother - Grandmother" then the date.

On the bottom panel I made seven kids (me and my siblings) in applique. It was a back view of us kids with big straw hats and bib overalls or dresses. The scene was "picking apples". I had a big apple tree, baskets, and shoes lying around, which I had embroidered.

In each corner I had a large embroidered heart in stencil design.

We gave it to Mother on Christmas. It took me one year to finish the quilt. She loved it!

What is your favorite quilt like?
